A view of Grand Junction, CO from the west end of the Colorado National Monument. Mt Garfield of the Bookcliff range can be seen on the left side of the image and the Grand Mesa is shrouded in clouds on the right. The Grand Mesa is the largest flat top mountain on the planet with average height of ten thousand feet up to eleven thousand feet. There are approximately 300 hundred snow melt lakes on the Grand Mesa Scenic and Historic Byway. The photograph was shot in April of 2006.

A hidden field of Yellow Cone-flowers on the South Creek trail. Somewhere between National and Jefferson, you will have to look off the trail and venture about fifty yards on foot.
